Happy may. This is a good time for cyclists out there. No more cold weather gear. No more indoor trainer. And a new magazine to enjoy!

My friend Jeff just co-started a new mag and online mag:

Check it out.

Dirt Rag illustration - connected

This is obviously about those of us who can't help but over-accessorize. The ipod, helmet cam, gps, satellite link, palm pilot and more.

Go old skool. Bike. Dirt. Sweat. That's one reason so many of us are going with single speeds.

Keep it simple stupid!

DirtRag- steel cage match

This is an illustration of Lance Armstrong vs. Floyd Landis that was just used in Dirt Rag. The hardest thing about this illustration was making the faces recognizable. Also, I found myself wavering as to who's side I was on.

Red Koi

Done for Illustration Friday. I love tattoo art - especially the koi. Tattoo lore suggests that the koi is good luck, and especially in combination with flowing water symbolizes courage, the ability to attain high goals, and overcoming life's difficulties.

If you want to read more there is a great site that has information on all kinds of different tattoo designs: www.tattoosymbol.com

Mental Toughness part 2

Here is an illustration I did a few months ago for Dirt Rag. It was a 2 part article, this being the second.

I liked it and it seems that I found someone else who really liked it too. Kurt Gillespie, a Dirt Rag reader & super stoked mountain bike rider had this permanently attached to himself recently by Jared Phair of Dragon FX Tattoo and Piercing in Edmonton Alberta.

I noticed a few subtle changes that were made and I think they were really well done. I like Jared's flames better than mine.

Sweet.

luchador mask - Illustration Friday

Yet another illustration for IF, turned in on Wednesday.

I love the Mexican wrestlers & their masks. There is something "cartoony" but very serious at the same time. No wonder they are so popular in Mexico.

chief

This is for Illustration Friday, although it's Wednesday, and the topic is might.

The chief shows his might by wearing a headdress with many eagle feathers. This may be a stretch, but I had him in my head & he had to come out!

I may do a graphic version of this for a tattoo design.
